Food & Confectionery Packaging Line

A typical food line configuration where multi-format product is cased, palletized and wrapped.

Stages on this line

  1. 01 Case Forming
  2. 02 Product Packing
  3. 03 Case Closing
  4. 04 Palletizing
  5. 05 Pallet Wrapping
Example Configuration

This page describes a typical system architecture, not a record of a delivered project. Equipment selection and throughput are defined per project.

Line Flow

How the product moves through the line

Each node is a station on the line; the note underneath states the method used there. The order is the product's physical journey; equipment selection and throughput vary per project.

  1. 01 Case Forming Hot melt adhesive or tape
  2. 02 Product Packing Vision-guided picking
  3. 03 Case Closing Hot melt adhesive or tape
  4. 04 Palletizing Recipe-based pallet pattern
  5. 05 Pallet Wrapping Stretch film

What makes the end of a food or confectionery line difficult is not speed but variety: the same line runs different weights, different case sizes and SKUs that shift with the season. If changeover depends on mechanical adjustment, whatever speed was gained is handed back in downtime.

In this example configuration, case forming, vision-guided packing and closing run as one line; palletizing is recipe-based, so a new case size means selecting a pattern on the HMI. The wrapping step adjusts film usage to load height.

Typical Applications
  • Casing of biscuits, chocolate and confectionery
  • Changeover across multi-weight product families
  • Capacity flexibility during seasonal SKU peaks
